My Brain is Tired!

I’m taking a little break from writing right now.  I still do my writing practice every morning, just taking a break from creating any type of story.  My brain is tired.  I spent a lot of time and mental energy on the last story I did and I just need a little break.  Of course, if something comes to me I’ll write no matter what, but I’m going to try to just take it easy until next Monday.  I find giving myself a little rest between stories helps me to be more creative and not get burnt out.

Today I had to go to the DMV to renew my license — not as bad as I thought it would be though.  It wasn’t that crowded when I got there and I only had to wait for 30 – 45 minutes before I was taken.  There was a bit of a crowd that came in after me, so I was glad I got there when I did.  I brought a book along to read — Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella — but it was too hard to concentrate.  I kept looking up at the board to see how close they were to calling my number.  I’m always afraid if I’m not paying close attention they’re going to call my number and I won’t hear it.  Even though when I’m reading I can hear all the other numbers they call that aren’t mine.  But for some reason I think I won’t hear my number, then they’ll pass me up and I’ll have to go back in line to get another number or come back another day.  Oh well, a little paranoia doesn’t hurt — I guess.

About T. R. Kolbe

I have been writing since July 2010. I wrote one novel although I haven't finished editing it and I don't know that I will. I have also completed 3 short stories and have 3 more that I am working on.
