A Room With Many Views

I am sitting at the desk in my hotel room, writing and gazing out the window at all the people that stop by to check in. I should probably be doing more writing and less staring out the window, but sometimes it’s hard. Especially with the view.

I also have a perfect view of the front desk, so I can see everyone as they come to check in or check out. It’s fun to watch all the people that come through this place. Their different looks, different style of dress. Families, friends, young, old. All of it makes for interesting characters. I like to imagine what they’re doing here, where they came from, where they’re going, what might go wrong for them along the way. Perfect material for a short story, possibly even a novel. I’m already feeling inspired!

About T. R. Kolbe

I have been writing since July 2010. I wrote one novel although I haven't finished editing it and I don't know that I will. I have also completed 3 short stories and have 3 more that I am working on.

Pour yourself a rum runner and you’d look like Hemingway’s paisano! Enjoy the view and soak up the experience – you can write the words down later!
